Low sag conductors are intended to increase the current capacity of the line with respect to its equivalent conductor, based on the increment of the working temperature, maintaining the electrical clearances due to low thermal expansion.
TREFINASA low sag conductors. The low sag conductor operation is based on the lower coefficient of thermal expansion of the steel core as regards the aluminium layers. Conductor sagging is made tensioning the steel core only, keeping the aluminium layers without mechanical stress.
